I have had a EEG after a bout of headaches and dizziness. The diagnosis is Generalised Epileptogenic Dysfunction. I live and work abroad and am currently unable to get a second opinion.. because I cant quite believe I have Epilepsy..
If anyone can share their information with me, I would be appreciative.
Who ever told you that have Generalized Epileptgenic Dysfunction , dose not know a lot about Epilepsy.
It would make more sense that they said that you have Generalized Epilepsy or Generalized… read more
I know it's a noninvasive way of measuring brain activity to potentially find the epileptogenic zone. Just wondering if anyone has actually done it and was it helpful for your treatment? Thanks!
@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member, I did it last month and I might be the outlier but I liked the MRI better haha.
The reason being my head is on the larger end of the spectrum so there wasn’t room for my… read more

I had a neuropsych eval and was very disappointed (read: angry) that there was no treatment suggested other than - maybe speech and language therapy. I've been looking up some stuff and found someone on another group who mentioned executive functioning training - which is exactly what I need. I'm excited to have found a "program" that may be helpful. Has anyone done this? It's probable that it's done through speech and language therapists. I just sent a note to my PCP asking for a point in the… read more
I'm sorry... Maybe I have heard about some relaxing method. But I don't remember. 🌺
As epileptic people must have to use AEDs possibly whole life, I am wondering that what kind of side effects one can expect and precautions to avoid these.

A full moon makes my puppy kind of crazy which = a lack of sleep = which does tend to increase absent seizures (is that still the term? this stuff has changed so much over the last 2 decades. )
Are there a couple of men out there that are struggling with it
Yep, me too
I’m ready for discussion
Anyone that feels uneasy about their medicine, talk
to your Doctor & have him explain what the "side effects" would be. Usually
you can find a "different medicine," if the one your

I'm a bit embarrassed about this question but maybe someone can help or has similar issues. Do any males have a reduced sex drive because of the medication they take? (and have they identified the tablets).
No problem at all I have 6 children 3 girls and 3 boys
I know that a poor eating habit can cause havoc to someone who has diabetes - because they need to regularly check their blood sugar levels, but I am not aware of that being the case for someone who has epilepsy - especially when they are on one AED that suppresses the appetite, and another one that counteracts the side-effect of the said AED. Just curious.
When I was a child my doctor put me on an all fat diet, and no sugar. I didn't have any seizures then.
