I'm a bit embarrassed about this question but maybe someone can help or has similar issues. Do any males have a reduced sex drive because of the medication they take? (and have they identified the tablets).
There are a number of factors which make people with epilepsy more vulnerable to sexual difficulties:
1) Poor seizure control (e.g., fears about having a seizure during sex)
2) Side effects of antiepileptic medications
3) Other health conditions (e.g., diabetes, heart disease, obesity)
4) Low self-esteem, lack of confidence, concerns about body image
5) Anxiety and depression
6) Past negative sexual experiences
7) Relationship difficulties with partner
8) Other medications or medical conditions (e.g., anti-depressants)
9) Excessive drug and alcohol use
10) Erectile dysfunction

my doctor mentioned it was possible when he first put me on keppra, but it probably did the opposite. only thing reducing now is a 9 year old who wants to sleep in our bedroom every night lol
It really depends on which one with me. I've had zonagram really effect it, but I wasn't sure if it was energy levels, then going down a bit on lyrica brought it back to normal. I have had frisium help up my drive. I have had times where I haven't wanted it for a year because of meds.
I think it's not just males. The side effects of medicines we take might be the cause of it. Even if it's not written on the medicine box, it really depends on how our body reacts.
Haha. I got kicked to the couch because the 8 yr insist in sleeping with Mommy. (Scary dreams in her own bed).
Mommy enjoys it. When the teen years hit, she'll probably hate us. So I let them enjoy it now.
