Lots of men ( and women) have a reduced sexual drive with epilepsy. I don’t know if it’s from the meds or the actual condition. I’ve had drs swear it was one or the other but it’s something that affects both sexes. Aging can be a.big reason for extra bathroom trips along with drinking more than usual as a lot of epilepsy meds can cause dry mouth. And it’s normal to soil urself during a seizure. Not everyone does, but a good amount do. It’s not under ur control so don’t be embarrassed by it

Sexual Function in Men with Epilepsy:

Over half of men with epilepsy report problems with sex. Common issues include:

- Reduced sex drive (libido)
- Sexual dysfunction
- Side effects from epilepsy medications affecting sexual function

A MyEpilepsyTeam member shared: "I lost my sex drive many years ago, having been on so many medications." Another asked about reduced sex drive from medications affecting their long-term relationship.

These problems can be treatable, so talking with your doctor or neurologist about sexual concerns is important. Toileting and Urinary Issues:

Nearly 40 percent of people with epilepsy experience urinary symptoms, with incontinence being most common. This happens during certain seizure types:

- Tonic-clonic seizures: Muscle contractions can cause the bladder to empty, or the urinary sphincter muscles may relax
- Absence seizures: Loss of consciousness can confuse the brain's signals controlling bladder function

A MyEpilepsyTeam member described: "I have incontinence issues when I have a full-on seizure."

Management options include wearing protective undergarments and keeping an emergency kit with you. Physical Mobility:

Seizures can affect physical movement in several ways:

- Involuntary muscle movements during motor seizures
- Muscles may stiffen or weaken
- Body or limbs may jerk
- Difficulty using legs after a seizure

One member shared: "Can't use my legs after a seizure."

These challenges are real and discussing them with your healthcare provider can help you find solutions and support.

Good post and? I agree with the ai mentioned about it and I have been going to the bathroom now a little more than before then say 5 or so yrs ago, but I take into consideration with my condition and situation at hand and my age, meds, and diet and such etc, It does not bother me taking that into account, but I think it's dif per person and if they would disclose that information about the post here would be that individuals own call, my opinion but get people's opinions here which are ok with that and good luck with your search for the post here my opinion
