Hello, my neurologist did an EEG on me on 3 different occasions for a different reason. In all 3 occasions I was told there was abnormal sharp waves that represent Epilepsy. I've never had any sort of seizures before.
The reason I started seeing a neurologist was memory issues, imbalance, weakness, and fainting spells. Are these considered seizures?
Also, for a while now, I have hallucinations during first stages of sleep, like right while drifting to sleep. I can also feel myself fainting… read more
I was wondering can you have a clonic seizure on just one side ,I'm starting to have clonic seizures that always starts on my right side then it progresses to a tonic-clonic seizure.
Mine can happen Day or Night . It use to be I only had Nocturnal seizures when I would be sleeping in bed.

During a seizure I am falling now. Don’t have grand mals.
What kind of surgeries have you had that have helped your seizures?
I’m awaiting the DBS as part of the preparation for my second surgery, I have complex partials, tonic clonic and generalised temporal lobe seizures
I have noticed some people have some sort of focal epilepsy where they know where their seizures are coming from (a part of the brain). In the case of focal seizures you can have surgery, but usually in generalized epilepsy I haven't heard of a surgery that works yet.

How long does it take you to really feel like you are back to your baseline after a GTC seizure? I was just diagnosed with epilepsy 6 months ago and have had several focal aware seizures, a few focal impaired awareness seizures and now 3 generalized tonic clonic seizures. It seems to be getting harder and taking longer to feel back to my baseline after a GTC. The fatigue and cognitive impairments are the worst.
Thank you so much Shelia2, that is really helpful to hear someone say that.
