My husband suddenly started having grand mal seizures about 6 years ago completely out of the blue and was diagnosed with epilepsy about 6 months after his first cluster of seizures. He was young (27) fit and healthy and strong as he is a farmer, since the epilepsy began he has changed in almost every way... can anyone else relate?
I canβt relate , since I had Epilepsy almost my whole life. But, there is a possibility , that his seizures or medication side effects, or both are causing his personality change
Hi π I'm Eve , I'm 52 and I've just been diagnosed with an x-ray with Osteoarthritis. I was always careful with bone density scans on Tegretol . I've developed toxicity in around 2016. I changed my meds to Keppra and didn't get on well with the Anxiety so changed again to Epilim and Lamotrigine. It was roughly 6 months into that that I developed joint pain. I was told it was normal wear and tear and my blood test for inflammation had come back clear. I insisted on further investigation on myβ¦ read more
Has anyone suffered pain in their elbow as a result of epilepsy medication or a seizure? Do you have regular scans on your bones?
My daughter says her elbows and knees hurt all the time after starting kepra .
Has anyone else experienced 'heavy feeling' limbs and joint pain when prescribed Epilim? I was aware of the gastro and weight gain problems - but not if these are symptoms too.

I have sharp pains that hit me in my temples. Does anyone else have this pain and what do you do for it. I am 65 and had seizures since 13 years of age. This pain just started about 2 years ago. My neurologist gave me a antiflmatory but it does not help. Some times it wakes me up. The pain in my head is horrible.
Pain meds can cause constipation also.
Does it affect your hair and teeth?
Thank all of you for your responses πππ
Pain and body aches are common after a seizure. It is from the muscles clenching up.
When the weather is dull and cold I have had more seizures, but if its nice and sunny I find it gives me a boost to do more than I usually do.
I also have problems with heat. I have to be careful when I exercise. Can't bicycle. Between the pressure of the helmet and the heat of the exercise it's a guaranteed seizure. IDK π€·ββοΈ
