Hi π I'm Eve , I'm 52 and I've just been diagnosed with an x-ray with Osteoarthritis. I was always careful with bone density scans on Tegretol . I've developed toxicity in around 2016. I changed my meds to Keppra and didn't get on well with the Anxiety so changed again to Epilim and Lamotrigine. It was roughly 6 months into that that I developed joint pain. Regardless of the type, epilepsy meds drain a lot of folate, vitamin Bs and D. Make sure you are refilling your tankβ¦. Absorption is a problem for me too. So you may need more than the average Joe.

Drug side effects may be the cause, but I read stuff on twitter and there is research coming out that OA may be related to metabolism diseases, like insulin resistance, diabetes, too much glucose, and stuff like that. Also, I recently found this article about boron being important in building bone. I have smouldering multiple myeloma, a bone cancer, OA, and osteoporosis, so I have started taking boron. According to the article, you can take 1- 13 mg of boron. I have started with 3 mg. We'll see how it goes.

I have used all your medications at different times. I have osteoarthritis in back, arms and neck. I have osteoporosis neck and hip. I walk everyday w/ friends and definitely puppy! Life is a festival! Take my calcium and vitamins. Recently started Xcopri only. I hike minor balance issues take my pole so I keep balance. No seizures!
I have only been taking zonisamide for less than 2 yrs so the seizure drug probably is not the cause. A few yrs ago around 60yo, I got hyaluronic acid injections in my knees. They worked wonders as long as I stay active and maintain the muscles around my joints I am good. I need to ask my dr if it is allowed in the big toe. That is my current source of OA pain.
