For those of you who have had brain surgery, please first answer each of these questions (for each time you had brain surgery) before answering the main question:
1. When was your brain surgery?
2. What were you told prior to convinced you to have brain surgery?
3. What was/are your pros and cons in judging your brain surgery or surgeries?
4. Did one or more of them improve your quality of life?
@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member Sounds like the WADA test. I had that before my surgery.
Bananas are a healthy fruit, as long as you don't eat them to often you will have a good sugar level and you will be okay.
I began eating healthy due to another health factor. I noticed when I dropped the sugar from my morning coffee, started drinking more bottled water rather than drinking soda or fruit juices, and… read more
I haven't dated nor ha sex in years. With epilepsy and my other health problems, I just feel so weird, burdensome, unattractive and odd, I don't even try. Even my personality is different. I don't have much patience, I get aggravated easily and sick of people. How has this affected you all with dating? And do you also have other health issues in addition to this monster called epilepsy?
Finally, somebody who gets it.
Does anyone have an issue with sweating while eating?
While and or sometimes afterwards...
I miss the companionship of a man but having auras and seizures out of the blue, be anxious, weight gain from meds (and my depression from over eating) I'm just not hot anymore and I get it. I'm not sad about it, it's just what it is. So for those of you who aren't married, do you date fellow epileptics, do you date at all, feel insecure about your body/looks/poor cognition/scared of scaring someone with a seizure at the risk of looking like Linda Blair from the Exorcist (lmao). Do you all date… read more
Tiffany, I have always felt like you re: the burden thing. My wife says the same thing after 25 years. We are very blessed.
I fell asleep yesterday just before I was about to eat, I missed eating and taking my medication, then when I woke up over two hours later I took my medication, then I had a fall over on the floor found it hard to get up, I missed eating.
We all have our own ways, but what we must do is to eat, sleep, drink and make sure we take our medication on time, then we can support, live, love + laugh every day Take care.
I have improved my diet to loose some weight, I don’t drink much soda, other junk food that I really want to eat. My guess is everybody knows eating or drinking somethings are triggers for seizures… read more
Hi there, really random question but does anyone else have trouble with dating. I barely date anymore as I'm petrified of having a seizure out in public and in front of a date. I hate having to tell a man before I go out with him that I have epilepsy and what to do if I have a seizure on our very first date. It's just a bit embarrassing and I just feel a bit pathetic having to make all these precautions before. I also can't feel safe as im really vulnerable after a seizure so i worry about that… read more
@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member I have tried keppra, evil stuff 😂. It was horrible, made me so depressed. I've also tried lacosamide, lamotrigine and clobazam which didn't work. I'll see what suggestions my… read more
