Hi guys,
I'm not on any medication at the moment for my tonic clonic and grand mal seizures.
I'm wanting to speak to my Dr about maybe starting Topomax.
Has anyone been on it? Any side effects? Does it help stop seizures?
Did you take topomax in conjunction with other seizure meds or on it's own?

Hello I will like some advise, I start it having grandmal since 2011 took me lot neurologist to find out what was wrong with me, till I found a specialist from kaiser, she did, she got it control with lanictal, I have been in lanictal and no seizures, but I went to see my neurologist for my 8 months check up and she told me, I'm in a higher douse on my meds, I'm taking 250 morning 100 afternoon and 300 at night, she said is gonna be a point my body will get used to it and she give me the option… read more

hello everyone, As most of you have experienced, with epilepsy comes a horrendous memory at times. I finally remembered to ask my neurologist if he knew of any methods to help me out because I just cant take it anymore. he is sending my on August second to a neuro-psychologist. I was wondering if anyone had ever gone to one and if it actually did help.

Since I've moved to Australia I've been taking generic keppra and lamictal. I took the same medicine in the USA, but I'm feeling some intense side effects from the generic medicine here. My friend that's a pharmacist said it could be from fillers that are used in the medicine. I'd pay for the name brand but it's very expensive. And then the stress from the financial strain can cause a seizure. Anyway, could there be something in the medicine that I'm not aware of?

I have found lately that after a seizure I am so much more sensitive to criticism and to well basically anything emotionally draining.
Am I the only one?
I'm hoping this is normal!

I had a neuropsych eval and was very disappointed (read: angry) that there was no treatment suggested other than - maybe speech and language therapy. I've been looking up some stuff and found someone on another group who mentioned executive functioning training - which is exactly what I need. I'm excited to have found a "program" that may be helpful. Has anyone done this? It's probable that it's done through speech and language therapists. How does anyone who is a full time parent get by with epilepsy and the fear of having one by yourself with just your child. I have grand mal and partial seizures. I'm to scared to have another child because I'm scared I shouldn't be a mother because of my epilepsy. I've recently also had brain surgery. So I have had a lot of help since my son was born. Hi everyone. I am Robbie, going to be 57 on August 1 and have had seizures since 11 years old. I take Carbatrol, Keppra and Lamictal for my seizures and also have had VNS since the early 90's. I have never been able to get my seizures fully controlled.
