I had a conversation with a few people here. We all have had difficulties speaking. Getting confused, slurring words, dyslexia getting worse, not being able to put sentences together properly, etc.
If that’s a seizure, what type of seizure is it?
Or is it more likely just side-effects of medications?
Thanks.
@Pamale6
I always had trouble speaking clearly when I was having an aura, which is a warning sign for a seizure.
I'm 18 years old and have had Absent seizures since I was 2. The many different medicines I have taken have not worked for me. More bad than good. all the side affects. My Dr. is suggesting a VNS. I'm really on the fence about this as it is life changing forever more. i would like to find people to talk with that has Absent seizures with a VNS that it has help and ones that has a VNS that it hasent help and now has to live withit for the rest of their lives. please help me out with your good or… read more
For the last 30 years I've had an average of 1 - 2 simple partial seizures per month. The meds I've taken has caused my kidneys to form stones...3 trips to the ER and one surgery. My last kidney stone episode was one year ago. My doc told me it was imperative for me to STOP drinking pop and to start drinking alternatives including Powerade, milk. Lots of water. I started drinking Powerade and found I love the stuff...I drink it all the time! The crazy thing about all this is that I'm… read more
A frend of mine who also lives with Epilepsy told me about Electrolyes, I never even heard of Electrolyes! I took her advice and tried them, it has amazingly minimized my seizures. The Electrolytes I… read more
Hi everyone,
I've seen people on here who don't swim because it would be disastrous if they had a seizure in the water. I've seen others post that they do swim. Has anyone been told that people with seizures should never swim?
I myself have had a seizure and fallen into a pond. I sank down until my grandpa jumped in to pull me back up. I could have drown had I not been rescued. I was breathing hard for a few days.
If my lips is sore and headaches and body aches too
Something some said got to me. Not all forms of epilepsy make tou loose consciensness. I am always alart and and aware of several of my triggers. My sezuires are either absent, mind staring or simple/conplex jerks (like a cold chill).
I have complex partial seizures. My neurologist and I have talked about my license as I have brought it up. He sees no reason to revoke my license and my diagnosis does not require them to be.
Anyone else still have their license?
I am hoping for my first year. It's been 10 months.
Need Another Opinion
After some of my larger seizures, I had slept about 6 hours. I only slept about that last night, so took my meds and am returning to bed. Lack of good and enough sleep is a Trigger for me.
I have epilepsy and have problems with walking after having so many seizures so there is already damage. (Crutches/walker) but I don't know the specific time and was curious.
That's was very helpful! Thank you
So after reading I've read many say they were out or doing something they had a siezure and kept doing what they were doing. Other than now knowing that aoras don't think I'm spelling correctly, are a siezure I guess..... If not what does everyone mean? They weren't flopping on the floor..... I now that's not the only type but I'm still confused.
Thanks for helping me try to understand. I figure asking here directly would help me more than a million things on the G search engine

The way I feel post-Ictal significantly indicates I had one
Had grand mal seizure last night, after I came too. I needed help to bathroom & got sick for 20 minutes or so. I have never had that happen before.
Thank you! You too!
