Fainting Episodes
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

For over 13 yrs I was diagnosed with epilepsy…vacant seizures. My last seizure was last February and I haven’t had any for 7 yrs. I fainted last August and last week. I had a test echo on my first event that was ok . I had a pacemaker installed 13 yrs ago but it’s fine. The tilt test says I had slightly low blood pressure . I have a follow up call with the consultant next year. As I’ve fainted this will probably make me lose my job due to ill health. This situation has gone on for 15 months as… read more

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

Does anybody go to support groups for epilepsy? Sometimes I feel so alone. I like that I'm treated "normal" but sometimes ppl forget I do have limitations.

Recovery Time After Temporal Lobectomy Surgery?
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I'm planning on having the temporal lobectomy surgery next month. What is the expected timeline of feeling better? My doctor said 5 weeks but I am interested to hear what that means. Does that mean in two weeks you felt better enough to go out or not need assistance or did it take longer? Thanks!

What If You Don’t Know The Trigger For Your Seizures?
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I don’t know when I have or going to have a seizure I get no warning at all but I have tried cutting out certain foods/not looked at certain lights all the common triggers but I’m trying to think outside the box and every time I do my mind goes blank has anyone got any suggestions? But then I think could the answer be closer to home?, I do take medication also I have tried nearly all the common epileptic drugs out there and just want an answer/opinion.
Thank you in advance.
