My neurologist added Fycompa to my lamictal and vimpat. The lamictal and vimpat combo has worked pretty well for the most part, but I’ve had a few breakthroughs and serious insomnia. My neurologist said that lamictal can cause insomnia. I had no idea. I’ve been taking it for years, but I had also been taking medication to help me sleep up until a few months ago. I am nervous about starting Fycompa, but hopeful as well. He is going to ween me off lamictal completely over the next 6 weeks. Any… read more
Tammy Rudy how can you drive? They took my license first hospital visit.
I started taking Fycompa and boy it turns me into a grumpy a-hole. It also makes me so dizzy it feels like I just got off an amusement park ride. I'm talking to my doctor to see if I can stop taking it. But stay away..Worst. Medication. Ever.
Is anyone else on Fycompa and dealing with negative side effects? I was placed on it in addition to Keppra, Carbatrol and Zonisamide and I have not been myself. Both my husband and I truly don't know if the Zonisamide has had any positive effects. My seizure activity has increased in the last 6 months and a Neurologist I see since moving to Florida from Chicago prescribed them. My husband has not been happy with the Neurologist.

My neurologist increased my Fycompa dosage from 2mg to 4mg at the beginning of the month. A week later, I started struggling with depression issues- feeling sad, angered, tired, helpless and feeling like I'm a failure. Is there a correlation?
I'm off of that medication now. Came off of it last Saturday and I'm feeling so much better. Less confused, more alert, and a lot less depressed. Had a zoom call with my neurologist yesterday. He… read more
I take Fycompa. My Epileptologist told my wife and , I to keep and eye out, if I start getting paranoid or any for of negative behavior.
So far I haven’t noticed, nor my wife.
So since upping my dose of Fycompa I’ve struggled to walk in a straight line, walk into things and stagger when walking. I also dribble when talking and when sitting still. I wonder if the two are linked or I’m just being overprecautious?
Any experience would be highly appreciated 💕
I take it at around 9pm now every night to try stick to routine and still the same effect.
How did it work for you? Any strong side effects? I will be starting it soon, just want to know if anyone has any experience with it.
I can't call lacosamide in to local Safeway pharmacy early cuz it's a controlled med, then they don't have it in stock, so always a couple days late. It's working so I'm reluctant to ask for different med after just 2mo.
Any tips? Do you get it local or mail order? What's best place/method, least headache? Thanks!
I receive my neurology medication through mail order. It is ships to a drugstore for pick up after they contact my neurologist for a refill. I receive a three month supply.
