I want to know if the Temporal Lobe Resection would be something that I could be considering than the VNS, if so I just want advice from patients who have had it and let me know there experience.

I have complex partial seizures. My last one was in April. I was wondering if anyone else is aware if they have one in their sleep?
Or recently I’ve been having staring spells, but still conscious and still can hear things. I don’t jumble my words but it may take me a second or two to respond. They just aren’t quite like the spells I had when I was first diagnosed. Has anyone ever had them change from over time?
I have complex partials those are the kind of nocturnal seizures I get at night. I'd wake up from one. I don't get starring spells though.
So, I currently have a tonic clinic seizure at school. While I was there the advisor gave me cpr even though I had a pulse. Long story short, my advisor calls my mom and says “she will be allowed to return to school when a doctors note is provided”…. I have had seizures before but this is the first time I truly feel discriminated. Has anyone ever felt like this?
Personally I only feel discriminated against after I've disclosed that I do have seizures..I'm hired, then fired 3 days later because some jumpy kid (18-34) gets nervous.
I know the tests said my memory was poor. When given directions, I did not carry out the task well or consistently. The inability to do so the Doctor felt would getting and keeping a job difficult.
Ditto. Mine are related đź’ś
So I'm going back to college. I start on August 11th. Here's my deal though. I've been in and out of college since I graduated in 2009 because of Epilepsy problems. I've gone to college three other times already. Also for three different things. Should have stayed with the same track I know but I'm indecisive and I get bored easily. First time I was at the community college, I was there for my AA but I had just found out that I had Epilepsy. My GPA started dropping near the end of a year and a… read more

In high school (1980 - 1984), I had some issues, but I was still very intelligent (though did not know until 2021 that I was suffering from brain damage from the return of my Epilepsy in 1980 to when I was finally diagnosed in treated in 1997 --- this only being possible because research was published in 1995 that proved that Epileptic Partial Seizures existed. Thus some of the things that so many more older epileptics than me were being judged for before 1995 -- such as daydreaming, bad… read more

You see people who make fun of people with grandmal seizures or use them in their pranks.
So how would you go about making them understand what its like to live with epilepsy and what its like in those moments? When i think about how i would go about i can honestly say I dont know and I dont know if i could ever make them understand because they dont walk in my shoes or anyone elses shoes with epilepsy

I used to be in management. I got the Position before my diagnosis, but lost it when the company was bought out. I live in an at will state so they just let me go. I totally understand that I couldn't legally do the job due to most of the work being driving all around Washington State managing demolition crews. But now, I am at a loss. I lost the job in April, and haven't been able to find any employment that would accommodate my disability. I am tired and refuse to spend any more time stressing… read more

Yep, you shouldn’t be around sharp things. I had a seizure in high school shop class and cut my arm and finger on a saw. Doctors stitched it all back up.
Does anyone who is still in high school that has seizures have a paraprofessional
Try to get medical insurance. U are eligible. Dont worry. Do u live in america?
So as I walk down this path of learning more and more about our disability. I have learned that other learning disabilities are not uncommon for people with epilpesy. I had 1 neurologist explain as if there is something majorly wrong with the brain like seizures it's not unlikely for some other odd things to be in there
My self I am dyslexic, So I guess with those of us that were born with epilepsy have you ever noticed or been diagnosed with a learning disability
