Hi guys,
I'm not on any medication at the moment for my tonic clonic and grand mal seizures.
I'm wanting to speak to my Dr about maybe starting Topomax.
Has anyone been on it? Any side effects? Does it help stop seizures?
Did you take topomax in conjunction with other seizure meds or on it's own?
Thanks heaps.

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member

I Was on Topomax and it had some side effects that were tolerable … Stay strong in time you might be thankful 🙏 🙏

Pregnancy And Epilepsy Medicines?
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I'm on several epilepsy meds and have been warned that pregnancy could be dangerous and high risk. My seizures are still uncontrolled, mostly complex partial/secondarily generalized. Was wondering if any women suffering from uncontrolled seizures and/or on Dilantin, Vimpat and/or Lamictal have had children, and if so, what your experiences were? I want kids more than anything :(

Why Do Neuro Docs Try To Push You Into The PNES Bucket From The Start?
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

Just started the epilepsy journey this March, I’m 53. My Neuro wants me to do the inpatient 3-5 day EEG, which is fine. I’m on 1500 mg keppra 2xday, and 600mg gabapentin 3xday. I have what I’d call focal aware seizures that I get stuck in a state of staring and then my left shoulder and abdominal muscles shake / contract and release rapidly, lasting 1-3 minutes. Sometimes on bad days it can last up to 10 min. That’s rare. I have days when I have clusters of them, some days with none. I’ve only… read more

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have absence seizures and I am on 250mg Lamotrogine twice daily and have now added Frisium/Clobazam. Lamotrogine in pregnancy seems safe but Frisium/Clobazam not so much. Interested to hear from anyone who has been pregnant on Frisium/Clobazam and their experience.

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member

Yes. I have epilepsy and I am pregnant with my third. My 2 oldest are very healthy.
