I'm happy to learn about this and plan on discussing with neurologist. I've downloaded the questions to discuss with her.
I'm so grateful for this resource. ❤️
Hi guys,
I'm not on any medication at the moment for my tonic clonic and grand mal seizures.
I'm wanting to speak to my Dr about maybe starting Topomax.
Has anyone been on it? Any side effects? Does it help stop seizures?
Did you take topomax in conjunction with other seizure meds or on it's own?
Thanks heaps.
I Was on Topomax and it had some side effects that were tolerable … Stay strong in time you might be thankful 🙏 🙏
I was born a month early and was small. They think lack of oxygen was a cause.
I do not know how far back Epilepsy can be genetically to have an effect. As I said, there are many different types of seizures, developed in many different ways. Some are Traumatic Brain Injury. They… read more
I'm on several epilepsy meds and have been warned that pregnancy could be dangerous and high risk. My seizures are still uncontrolled, mostly complex partial/secondarily generalized. Was wondering if any women suffering from uncontrolled seizures and/or on Dilantin, Vimpat and/or Lamictal have had children, and if so, what your experiences were? I want kids more than anything :(
I understand completely. I got pregnant. Even on birth control it happens. As it turns the only thing that my daughter has is pervasive development disorder . It's on the autism tree. She's very… read more
Hi so I'm 9 weeks pregnant and I got referred to a maternal fetal medicine doctor on top of my regular ob and neurologist. When I went to the appointment I feel like I wasted my time because everything he said I already knew or had planned with my other Doctors. I told him they all know I'm pregnant my epilepsy meds have already been adjusted a couple times my ob already said about a baby aspirin it was just a big repeat I am wondering if this is recommended for all women with epilepsy? Did you… read more

Just started the epilepsy journey this March, I’m 53. My Neuro wants me to do the inpatient 3-5 day EEG, which is fine. I’m on 1500 mg keppra 2xday, and 600mg gabapentin 3xday. I have what I’d call focal aware seizures that I get stuck in a state of staring and then my left shoulder and abdominal muscles shake / contract and release rapidly, lasting 1-3 minutes. Sometimes on bad days it can last up to 10 min. That’s rare. I have days when I have clusters of them, some days with none. I’ve only… read more

I have absence seizures and I am on 250mg Lamotrogine twice daily and have now added Frisium/Clobazam. Lamotrogine in pregnancy seems safe but Frisium/Clobazam not so much. Interested to hear from anyone who has been pregnant on Frisium/Clobazam and their experience.
Yes. I have epilepsy and I am pregnant with my third. My 2 oldest are very healthy.
For the ladies... it’s hit me that I’m getting to the point where I should be family planning. I called my epilepsy nurse to discuss the risks along with my medication and it’s scared me to death. But if I don’t do it soon I don’t think it will ever happen 😢

Living the lifestyle of Epilepsy, I've learnt that everything we do , involves a certain level of risk. For example, walking, chores, working, leaving our home, driving, riding thrill rides at an amusement parks and ect. These examples have different levels of risks. How big of risks are you willing to take , to live a close to normal life.
I take zero risk as I just live a normal live
I was diagnosed at a year old . After our dog saved my life . Has anyone been living through Epilepsy since day one ?
So awesome!!
