What’s Everyones Experiences Like Being Pregnant With Epilepsy?
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

For the ladies... it’s hit me that I’m getting to the point where I should be family planning. I called my epilepsy nurse to discuss the risks along with my medication and it’s scared me to death. But if I don’t do it soon I don’t think it will ever happen 😢

I’m on 4 meds and I had one epilepsy nurse tell me it wouldn’t be possible to have kids because of all the birth defects that the baby could have and I was on 4 meds then 6 months later another epilepsy nurse said it would be possible if I got down to one med I knew that wouldn’t be happening anytime soon so I made the difficult decision I wouldn’t have kids it was heartbreaking it took me a long time to accept x x

I’ve spoke to my epilepsy nurse, I’m on 3 AED’s at the moment making it quite high risk 🙁. So my meds are going to need to be altered. I’m waiting for an appointment to come though to see my neurologist so I can discuss it all properly and we can get a plan in place
