I am feeling so hurt and realising reality today. I asked someone at work today if they had seen their neurologist and she said "No next week You've been asking me the same question every time I see you for over a month" Her voice lowered and drifted out by the time she said about the "month". I'm not sure whether she realised my issues or nobody was really listening. the room was full of staff I did say I thought you might of because your voice is croaky as she is having Botox. How much and… read more
I have the same problem.

Ever since I had my first and only grand mal seizure last January, I've had a really hard time talking. With almost every conversation I have I will mess up words that use to be no problem for me. It almost feels like as if my mouth is deformed. At first I thought it was because I talk to fast but when I slow myself down in a conversation then it'll trigger a absence seizure and I won't be able to talk at all.
@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member, you’re welcome.
I always seem to have some sort of headache all the time. Sometimes its barely there. I also have trouble pronouncing words sometimes and just feel like im not really there in the moment. Its creepy. Its like im dissociating. When im explaining something to somebody i also sometimes forget what i was talking about and zone out for a couple seconds, then i cant seem to remember what i was talking about. It also happens when other people are talking to me. Its like i cant comprehend what they are… read more

Do you feel uncomfortable embarrassed strange. Do people seem to look at you strange while talking. Do you have trouble with eye contact. Feel stupid when walking away after a conversation with someone
I don’t think my epilepsy has ever prevented me from talking. I will talk to a wall. That being said as I age I have noticed some problems maintaining conversations due to short attention span and… read more
Does anyone else feel guilty about having a seizure? I know I shouldn't but I feel like I get in trouble when I do.
I had one while driving and it almost killed my son and I.
Please, try not to allow those guilty feelings.
This is not something we can control.
Does anyone else get offended when a neurologist or hospital says your faking seizures when your not?
Np òne is denying that you're having seizures if told pseudo just from a different source. Any EEG during one that shows no change in brain waves detemines if non-epileptic. Still need meds to help… read more
I fell asleep yesterday just before I was about to eat, I missed eating and taking my medication, then when I woke up over two hours later I took my medication, then I had a fall over on the floor found it hard to get up, I missed eating.
We all have our own ways, but what we must do is to eat, sleep, drink and make sure we take our medication on time, then we can support,live, love + laugh every day Take care.
Those of you that have had epilepsy for a long time, how often do you need to change medication? Does one work for quite a few years and then your seizures come back, and you have to try a new med? Is it common for people’s bodies get used to the meds?
I'm sorry to tell you this but be prepared to be taken off a med put on new one, possibly sometimes more than one med. Reason doing so is in search which one or combo will work best for you. I came… read more
