Anyone Notice Any Food Triggers (allergy Or Non-allergy)?
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

What are some of yours?

I know persevatives, additives, excess caffeine and heavily vibegared food are the biggest for me.

Has Anyone Ever Been Told That Their Diet Can Be Related To Seizures?
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I know that a poor eating habit can cause havoc to someone who has diabetes - because they need to regularly check their blood sugar levels, but I am not aware of that being the case for someone who has epilepsy - especially when they are on one AED that suppresses the appetite, and another one that counteracts the side-effect of the said AED. Just curious.

Does Anyone Else Not Seem To Be Affected By Alcohol?
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I've had juvenile myoclonoic epilepsy for about 4 years now and have only had 2 grand mal seizures. I take 200 mg of lamotrigine daily, but was previously on 1250 mg of valproic acid. When I was first diagnosed, my neurologist said she'd only recommend having 2 drinks max. I'm in university right now and the temptation to drink is very high. I have been getting pretty drunk going out partying, including nights where i have about 13 drinks (I'm 200 lbs). I have been fine in the morning… read more
