Pregnancy And Epilepsy Medicines?
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I'm on several epilepsy meds and have been warned that pregnancy could be dangerous and high risk. My seizures are still uncontrolled, mostly complex partial/secondarily generalized. Dilantin
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I took Dilantin for a few years as a child. I'm not sure why my doctor switched me from Dilantin to Tegretol, but I'm assuming it's because I broke through on it. I really liked it, but I suppose what I'm on now is best for controlling my seizures.

Why does Dilantin cause periodontitis?

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member

Unfortunately that’s just a side affect of it, even though you don’t hear that. My gums were always red and sensitive. Also, it made my pimples red.
