That might be a better question for your neurologist. I started having acid reflux and my epileptologist has me talking Omeprazole daily. My main symptom was changes in my voice because stomach acid was burning my vocal cords. This was about a year after changing from Dilantin to Lamictal. I was referred to an Ear, Nose and Throat Specialist, and that was the recommendation. I no longer waking up at night coughing. It's worthy of a medical opinion if it's a regular problem.
