I Wanted To Ask If Anyone Has Been On Depakote? If So Did You Ever Have Chest Pain With It? Was It Effective?
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have focal seizures and I have not had success with several meds. Is there any other bloodwork that was effective in diagnosing epilepsy? or non epileptic seizures?

Hi Samantha,
I understand how frustrating it must be to not find anything that will help. I have been on Depakote and have tolerated it well. I also take dilantin and lamictal. I used to take heavier doses of dilamtin but had to cut back because it was causing dizziness.

About 30plus years ago, I was on Depakote. But never experienced chest pain, for what I can remember, being on it .

I have been on that med and was for a few years and then am now on divaprolex, the gen of depakote, but I have had a few conditions that I went through, I had pneumonia, and bronchitis but it wasn't because of my meds I was taking, my opinion, no other symptoms as I know about,
