I've been onit since I was eighteen in 1962, the side effects are certainly swollen gums, I no longer have my own teeth at the top, a false set which is possitive in as much as I don't have to dread the dentists so much, but my bottom teeth are lose. But it'skept the epilepsy away

It worked for me for some time. I hated the swollen gums though. I was a teenager with braces when I was on it. After a few years it stopped working. I have found a lot of the drugs work for sometime, then they stop.

I've been taking Dilantin for about 20 years now. 500 mg daily. No seizures.

D@ Yep, I been there until I studied all the PILLS in the Big Red Book "The PDR". I looked up all the Effects my Medication Possibly could cause, then compared to Personal Side Effects I was having. I learned it was possible that my Medication was the culprit in causing many of my Side Effects I was having. After discussing with NEUROLOGIST my Prescriptions were slowly cut back or Medication was changed. Now take 5 Pills per day and still feel it's too much. One step at a time.

Everyone's different. When I was younger it helped some, but it got to the point where I was taking over 20 pills a day.
