Is it possible to have a 2nd temporal lobectomy?
I was told that since seizures occur in the left temporal lobe, surgery is not an option, as it could make my memory problem worse.
I had 2 right temporal lobe lobectomies, removing 13%dead brain tissue of the 18% damaged. Unable to remove all 18% because it was too close, making too risky to area of other dead brain tissue. Or it… read more

Hello all, just a general question here. After having a temporal lobectomy. When will the pain subside, as this is only being performed on one hemisphere.
Ouch these are the things I really like to know
I have the option to be evaluated for a clinical trial. They would inject brain cells into my hippocampus. I would have to be on immunosuppressive medications for a year after. All three options are scary. But patching with stem cells seems like it might be the most rewarding.
Has anyone had a temporal lobectomy, if so how soon were you able to wean off your meds and how was the process. My dr told me 2 years seizure free. My surgery was in July of last year so I've still got almost a year, but I'm having a lot of trouble with pharmacies and feel like it would be better to wean off early than to potentially go without them all of the sudden. I would like some opinions on this.
I’m the opposite. I couldnt do a second if I wanted. Although Im going to do the DBS ( deep Brain Stimulator ) surgery. Hopefully this will help more.
Hang in there and try and stay pos
Memory loss. my entire right temporal lobe is damaged. It's hard but one has to go on. Thank-you. Carol Pluff
Your short term memory is stored in your hippocampus which you have 2. One on each side of your brain. I would talk to your Neurologist and see what's going on.
