I have been having issues for about 3 weeks where my threshold seems lower, and my left arm and right leg seem to be weaker. When I fall asleep my right leg feels like it want's to go into a seizure, I find an ice pack sooths the feeling but of course gives me anxiety when trying to sleep.
Has anyone experienced this, particularly when staying up later or using Marijuana?
Have you contacted your neurologist? I only can take tylenol. Try even stretching thats what I do.
I've been on Lacosimide 400mg a day for almost 2 months now. Which has been great unitl yesterday. I was so dizzy barly made it to the bathroom. Then try to get my pants up, barely could do. Try to grab my grab bars in my grannys old room. Loss fuction of my legs. Could get my words out and crying. Fell backwards into toilet. My son came to help me. He thought I needed pants down and I kept trying to tell and wave up. He had to carry me back to my bed cause my legs wouldn't move and my walker… read more
Something sounds to high. Glad you got an appt.
My seizures last about 5 minutes (or less), although the seizure stops I still remain unconscious for long (anything between 10-40 minutes), should someone seek medical assistance or is it best to just to just wait it out. My neurologist says there is nothing they can do so best just to wait. It’s a terrible feeling and it’s a struggle to regain consciousness, move my limbs and open my eyes. I just want a second opinion to set my husband at ease when it happens.
it varies for each one of us... i'm older now and my seizure time is different plus where i live for some reason i have less seizures.....
but when i did have a gran mal seizure it takes me a bit… read more

Summer of 2002 is when I had my worst seizure that led to my epilepsy diagnosis and becoming medicated long term. It was a fully convulsive seizure almost for a full 20+ minutes. Can a seizure of that magnitude cause long term bone structure damage? Now that I'm in my mid-50's a lot of shoulder and neck issues that just seem to linger and sometimes not much relief for. I still get random muscle jerking of my legs, mostly the right leg, and sometimes more rarely even a bit with the torso.
A seizure that lasts that long is what happened to me 2 in 1 and a half hour. They can be dangerous .
I’ve had a few like that, but not very often. It’s when I’ve been stressed and lack of sleep happening. I try to avoid that because those will impact me for days. Hope you recover soon.
How often do those of you who only have nocturnal tonic clonic seizures have them?
It sounds like you may have to look for another Epileptologist that you can get decent appts with.
Is this real? How can I have “storms” (?) or irregular “spikes” (I think this is the word) and abnormal activity on 7 EEGs but no one around me ever sees anything unusual. I’m seriously questioning the legitimacy of my situation (diagnosis). Thanks!
@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member , The EEG can monitor the electrical part of your brain & what’s going on inside it, like stuff we can’t visually see. For example, in my last in hospital video EEG I stayed… read more

All the time, both myoclonic seizures and just twitching muscles.
