my usual auras consist of tingling in the left side of my face.(my seizures typically occur in my right brain) but recently I had an aura that had visual symptoms. it reminded me of ripples, waves, or tunnel vision. there were also white lights/flashes.(I cannot find the right words to describe what I saw) but it was only in my left eye. I had a temporal lobectomy last year, what I am worried about is that maybe the seizure focus has moved to the… read more
I'm planning on having the temporal lobectomy surgery next month. What is the expected timeline of feeling better? My doctor said 5 weeks but I am interested to hear what that means. Does that mean in two weeks you felt better enough to go out or not need assistance or did it take longer? Thanks!

I had a right anterior temporal lobectomy in 1988 and did notice weakness on my left side and have walked with a limp ever since but also notice that temperatures affect me also like if I'm standing outside for a short time in the cold that when I go to walk I nave to really think about getting my left leg to move. Heat in a sauna has caused a seizure .
I just wonder if after a left temporal lobectomy did people still suffer from seizures long after the surgery?
My son is set to have left temporal lobectomy on September 28 2018. I am wanting to talk to people who have had this done and your experiences. We are very nervous.
my epileptologist brought this up yesterday as possible treatment for my seizures. I had a temporal lobectomy, but that didn't work (at least not 100%) and gave me a different type of seizures. the place he wants to zap with a laser is a sensitive area that they KNEW was causing seizure activity, but couldn't remove during the temporal lobectomy because it would be dangerous to do so.
has anyone else had this surgery? how was it? was it painful? did it work?… read more
