Complementary Therapies

Complementary Therapies

Has anyone tried and complementary therapies such as massage, aromatherapy, acupuncture alongside their AED's to help with the side effects of their medications or just to help lower their stress levels to try and control their seizures? I've had acupuncture and absolutely hated it so I'm wondering if its worth trying anything else.

I take Dilantin and high amounts of B12 to keep depression at bay. I can really feel the difference the B12 makes. I think the meds really deplete your system on B vitamins.

Surgery: Yes Or No?

Surgery: Yes Or No?

The side effect of having surgery is bad memory, speech and others. I said no right away when my doctor told me to do it because its not 100% curable and it effects our memory very bad. But now after suffering the horrific memory lost and not being able to keep my memories, i am leaning more towards just doing the surgery. Does anyone know if our memory and speech gets worst after surgery, will it stay that way or it will get better over time? Will i be able to remember things after not having… read more

What Do You Do When The Drug & Surgery Approach Doesn't Work?

What Do You Do When The Drug & Surgery Approach Doesn't Work?

Does anyone have any information on things like naturopathic doctors or osteopathic doctors or anything "alternative"? The "usual" drug route doesn't cut it for me and I'm not interested in being sawed & drilled on! :) The natural route works so much better but I've reached a point where I need more to correct my body's balance but can't find the people to see in my area. The few naturopathic/ holistic doctors in my area are too far away to be able to see. Maybe I'm not as good on searching… read more
