A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

My daughter is almost 5, she takes keppra for her seizures. They are controlled very well but she has mood swings. Is there anything that would help her?

I was told to give my daughter a Vitamin B6 supplement as she is naturally extremely moody. Keppra has seemed to calm the moodiness, but she is very hyperactive now.

I take Dilantin and high amounts of B12 to keep depression at bay. I can really feel the difference the B12 makes. I think the meds really deplete your system on B vitamins.

Keppra has that for a side effect on many people. I've been on it for awhile myself , but haven't had that problem with the side effects..

Yeah we were taking the B6 and we just had a serious outburst yesterday with my daughter. I was frightened she might hurt us or herself. Told the doctor we had to get her off this ASAP. She has been put on Topamax
