A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

Does anyone here have moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis and still learning the steps how to live with this disease? I am going through many steps with it as we RA (rheumatoid arthritis specialist and I) have tried a few medications that did work briefly but due to bad side effects were needed to be changed

Can't take Prednisone it's a steroid and I am allergic to steroids. My RA specialist is doing just fine with the steps we're taking as we've gone through multiple medications to where we are now. I've been with him for eight years. Wouldn't be with a specialist this long if I didn't have strong trust in them.

FYI
Fish oil and plant oils have a positive effect for some people too along with other vitamins and minerals. CBD may be helpful too. Of course consulting your doctor about these is so very important .

Oh Sue! Dealing with rheumatoid arthritis in addition to epilepsy must be SO challenging. My heart goes out to you my friend. I agree with Marguerite, that finding a support group ( preferably face to face) might help with stress levels. I'm guessing there are some online groups as well.
Please keep us posted on your continuing search for relief of you pain.

Is there a Foundation for those affected by rheumatoid arthritis? Or a RA support group online?
