Hi guys,
I'm not on any medication at the moment for my tonic clonic and grand mal seizures.
I'm wanting to speak to my Dr about maybe starting Topomax.
Has anyone been on it? Any side effects? Does it help stop seizures?
Did you take topomax in conjunction with other seizure meds or on it's own?
Thanks heaps.
I Was on Topomax and it had some side effects that were tolerable … Stay strong in time you might be thankful 🙏 🙏
when i was a child (10-16) years old i was prescribed but when i left school the doctors changed my medication. why was this when mysoline was controlling my epilepsy. whilst on mysoline i was having 1 maybe 2 fits aweek but since they change my medication my fits have increased and i am unable to work
I would not pay attention to a School GP, who I think told you to go "Cold Turkey". I know some people stop having seizures naturally. Find a Neurologist or Epileptologist who is very observant, can… read more
there are commercials for cancer, Heart Disease, and a half a dozen more yet no one has even hardly heard of Epilepsy just think of
what good could be done if we had a few commercials ask for help
and talking about it maybe people would know what to do if they saw one
Because there is no cure for epilepsy. Epilepsy is a treatable, but incurrable disease. This is why even when people have surgery the reoccurrence of seizures may still be a possibility.
Please tell me that I am not the only one urging them to tell everyone with Epilepsy/Seizure Disorder about this amazing site.
It has changed my life to come here and make friends who know exactly what it is like to have a seizure. Don't you want everyone to also receive this gift?
I about this site from my Neurologist. I've never thought about asking the association to add it. I've thanked my neurologist numerous times for suggesting it. I'm on it daily. I've made online… read more
What was your experience? Was it worth it?
Damn another one tonight. I hate this, so sad.
I do so at my own discretion and usually don't have a prob with doing, I'm open when that time comes around and what I need to bring up to whoever I'm talking too.
Don't feel bad about it as long as you're comfortable and safe that's what matters most then others opinions...
I myself take 5 minute 🚿 about 3 times a week unless like you stated the weather 🙂
I didn’t know that 70% of all seizures can be controlled by medication.
Of course had 3 surgeries on spine.
A relative of mine came up to me, wanting understand more about epilepsy and applying for Social Security. She new I about my Epilepsy, and the basics of it. She has got to know and become friends with Epilepsy. She needed deeper info so she can help her friend
out better. This lady has no work experience, know minimal life skills and has a husband in worse shape than her. He has spinal Bifida , been in and out of the hospital . She is living off his SSDI and doesn’t know or realize that if she… read more
I’ve never met anyone who’s asked about it. If a person does that then they probably really care.
Since I've moved to Australia I've been taking generic keppra and lamictal. I took the same medicine in the USA, but I'm feeling some intense side effects from the generic medicine here. My friend that's a pharmacist said it could be from fillers that are used in the medicine. I'd pay for the name brand but it's very expensive. And then the stress from the financial strain can cause a seizure. Anyway, could there be something in the medicine that I'm not aware of?
All of my meds are in generic my insurance will not paid for brand name
