Sean2 even with me taking 4950 mg per day of seizure meds. It doesn’t always stop my symptoms either. I have read that the RNS does a lot better than what the VNS does for focal seizures. For much I’d have that done myself so I don’t have to experience another episode for the rest of my life because epilepsy meds is not a 100% cure.

I get the medicine part im on 9250 mg. Im taking Keppra, oxtellar, vimpat, lamotrigine, xcopri, and topamax. They started me on fycompa but had an allergic reaction to it and ended up in the ER with a tube down my throat bc it was swollen shut.

The VNS didn’t even shorten my seizures so I had another operation getting the device removed.

The only thing the vns did was shorten my seizures by just a little bit

I have read on several occasions at the VNS really doesn’t focus on focal seizures but the RNS does after having focal seizures for over 50 years and gone through probably about eight different prescriptions over the years. I still have focal seizures even taken anti-epilepsy meds.
