I’ve done everything from cursing out cops to telling my boss she looks like Dave Grohl from the Foo Fighters to her face.

What about you

This be William and Jen .. so .. we be sharing our life .. and our most embarrassing moment .. together ., on our wedding night we both be a bit nervous.. and that trigger a seizure in me .. in post ictal first thing I do be to cry ., 😭 and Jen say it be OK ., as the excitement bring her period early 😢 ., and the cramps and nausea with it ., as I get nausea in post ictal stage ., you all can probably see where this be going ., so ., we be lying beside each other, quierly holding hands ..when we both get the urge to purge ...so ., we sit up ., then throw up ., all over each other ., first we cry .. then we laugh ., so ., what be so funny about being covered with vomit? It be seeing the one you be loving more than life covered in same .. the true test of love then be to gently scrape that yucky mess away from each other's face .. so you can kiss to "make it all better" .. and then laughing together about the whole miserable encounter.. even as you be helping each other into the bathroom to shower 💜💙 😊😊..hugs from William and Jen 💜💙🤗🤗🕊🕊

Ha — telling your boss she looks like Dave Grohl is honestly kind of iconic (hopefully she's a Foo Fighters fan!). The postictal phase can cause real confusion and memory loss, which explains why things can get a little... unfiltered.

During this phase, it's common to experience:

- Confusion and disorientation
- Memory loss

During this phase, it's common to experience:

- Confusion and disorientation
- Memory loss
- Mood changes or unusual behavior
- Saying or doing things you wouldn't normally do

Many MyEpilepsyTeam members have shared similar stories of postictal confusion leading to awkward or embarrassing moments. The good news is that most people around you, once they understand epilepsy, are usually pretty understanding.

It can really help to let the people in your life — including your boss and yes, even local cops — know about your epilepsy in advance. That way, if something happens, they're less likely to misinterpret your postictal behavior and more likely to actually help you.

It's also worth chatting with your neurologist if postictal confusion is significantly impacting your daily life, as they may have strategies to help manage it.

Daily conversations are a challenge as I have Myaclonic seizures aswell as AUDHD I have to warn people. I'm often labeled rude and used to it. I am a great manager though in our neurodivergent and care communities ☺️
