Sussex, NJ

I needed to have Valtoco tonight due to prolonged focal aware seizure. I can barely stand up now and nothing feels real. Is that a side effect?

From my experience taking Valtoco, things feel very surreal afterwards & slightly dreamlike

100% that could be what happens, depending on the dosage strength - it’s literally intended to sedate you. You should lay down right after. I always tell my doctor it’s the opposite of what cocaine must be like.

I’m going to check out that website. Thanks.

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member Yes, it is but the problem is post ictal does this as well. It can be hard to judge what's exactly going on unless you are 2 weeks after the seizure and the post ictal phase has definitely past. When I had it I was only on the rescue med for a few days. So it's very possible I was also getting effects from the med but it was also mixed with post ictal phase so the whole thing was really hard to work out what was what.

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member Yeah, It's likely a mixture of both.
