Members warmly welcomed someone asking if this community is a safe and supportive space, and the conversation quickly grew into a heartfelt discussion about feeling dismissed or talked down to because of epilepsy. Several members described frustrating experiences where family members over-explained things, restricted everyday tasks like cooking and cleaning, or blamed emotional responses on medication rather than listening. A recurring theme was the importance of quiet love, open communication, and finding ways to set boundaries while helping loved ones understand what you are truly capable of.

Hallo Dana .. this be William .. my wife Jen and me .. our hearts go out to you ..because you be facing the hardest hurdle of all ., over compensation .. you need support that allows you to be all you can be ..to do all you be capable of doing .. support without suffocation ..independence .. yet knowing we have those we can count on ., not only to catch us when we fall ., but also to reach out to us., help us get back up again .. with our dignity intact ., and our spirit unbroken ., we cannot change how people react to us .. yet we CAN change how we react to them ..I be blessed with a loving partner who CHOOSE to be with me ., yet helps with family to remember they be human too .. they did not choose this either ., and many try WAY too hard to make up for that .. by over compensating.. stifling us with their concern ..all this info come to me from my wife Jen ., as we struggle together to learn to be man and wife ., so .. she use with me what she call quiet love .. to listen ., to hear what I say ., to stand by my side .. and help me to figure out things as I be needing her to be . Helps to talk with your family ., to help them understand how it look from your side., what yiu need from them .. and what you can handle on your own .. compromise be a useful key ., coupled with quiet love .. it work well for me ., we pray this info help you too .. hugs and prayers from William and Jen πŸ’œπŸ’™πŸ€—πŸ•Š

We are all here to support each other. Most of the time an AI will give its info . But there are the many of us who answer to our best ability of knowledges , experiences and possible opinions related to Epilepsy majority of the time. But we do ask questions, off-topic now and then
