Members with epilepsy shared helpful insights on teas that may be safe, noting that herbal teas are caffeine-free and a popular choice among the community. Several members shared personal experiences drinking herbal teas for decades, with one member describing how their spouse prepares mint and other herbal teas at room temperature to avoid seizure triggers, sweetened with honey instead of sugar or artificial sweeteners. A recurring theme was the importance of checking with doctors before trying any tea, since some herbal ingredients can interfere with seizure medications like Keppra, Lamotrigine, and others.

Tea has less caffeine than coffee... I just went through Google for the breakdown then found a tea website that provided a good breakdown.

The specific breakdown per standard 8-ounce cup highlights these differences:
Brewed Coffee: 95 – 200 mg
Black Tea Bag: 40 – 70 mg
Green Tea Bag: 20 – 45 mg
Herbal Tea: 0 mg

I am someone that drinks black coffee with a small amount of milk every day. When I was going through the dropping of coffee these are the exact numbers I was finding from the manufacturer sites. When looking at black tea caffeine itself this is also correct as it shows black tea bags have caffeine yet they have less within them. The amount is all based upon the brand. The caffeine amount in green tea is based on manufacturer just the same. Herbal teas have no caffeine placed in the tea bag.

Not sure if it will take you to that website or not the way I saved it. I apologize

Edit to add: If you do wish to have loose leaf tea it opens an entirely new world as loose leaf is a new thing that needs more research on the type with the many things that can be added into the dry mix. There are some manufacturers that can be trusted but there are others that are questionable due to how they make the loose leaf tea.

I say this because I began drinking loose leaf tea and learning the differences of how to spot who can be trusted and who cannot. Always do your research before drinking just to see the content inside the product and ensure your own health. I have learned to follow this instinct every time before making a purchase when it comes to coffee, tea bags, or loose leaf tea. I always research the manufacturer just to give me peace of mind as well.
