Hi DaisiaMcafee , I do have the DBS . I got my DBS put in Aug/ 2022 . Since then my seizure reduced from 30siezures ( or once a day ) a month to 6-10 seizures a month.

I have DBS. The Neurosurgeon increased the level from 2.5 to 3.0 to 4 then finally 5.0. The lower levels I still were getting seizures. When it came to level 4 I got less seizures. Level 5 seems to be great for Me!

If it’s going to cause more expenses to follow Dr, then it’s not worth it.

I don’t know when your Dr. is leaving, But I hope your Dr. is there long enough to introduce you to your next Dr. and hopefully the new Dr. Will follow what your original Dr.s planned.

I have gone through 4 Epileptologists ( thru adulthood ) . They were all at the same clinic I’m at today. When a Dr. was moving to a new clinic , retiring , or moving to another state. My Dr. had always had another Dr. ( soon to be mine ) , show them the ropes and meet the patient that the doctor treated. I would also get to know my new Dr. ahead of time..

I have an RNS so I can tell you everything about it. It’s better than the VNS which I had at one time too.I had my RNS surgery at KU Medcenter.
