Members shared personal strategies for coping with medication side effects, with a common theme being open communication with their neurologist to adjust or switch medications when side effects became unmanageable. Several members offered practical tips, like eating before or after taking Tegretol or Trileptal to reduce dizziness and double vision, researching side effects in advance, and watching calming childhood cartoons to reduce stress. A recurring theme was resilience, with members encouraging one another to advocate for themselves and never give up.

Find out the cause right away and find a solution. When I saw I was getting dizziness and double-vision from Tegretol and Trileptal, I found eating right before or right after taking it prevented it.

It may be strange to other people here lately I've been watching Children's shows and cartoons from our childhood if you're old enough to remember them. It's calming and helped me not stress so much

I have only had one medication with side effects over fifty+years and that was Keppra. I told my doctor about it and he got me off it. I was shaking to much.

I’m not a much help here since I haven’t ever experienced any problems with this. Often times if you let your neurologist know, they may try a different medicine
