I was smoking Marijuana to help with the anxiety. It did but needed more and more. I was smoking way too much so I quit. Then all hell broke loose. The auras took off from maybe 10 a day to 40plus. I have been sweating like crazy and cold feet and hands. It has been very taxi g on my Health and my psyche. Just throwing it out there because Im mostly alone.

Thanks for the replies.
Mine are usually burnt oil or burning dust on a light bulb with a sour chemically smell.

First of all, it's really good that you're sharing this — you shouldn't have to carry all of this alone, and what you're going through sounds genuinely exhausting, both physically and emotionally.

The jump from around 10 auras a day to 40+ is significant and absolutely worth taking seriously. These smell-based focal aware seizures are real seizures, even if they don't look dramatic from the outside. Quitting marijuana abruptly after heavy use can cause withdrawal effects that may lower your seizure threshold, which could help explain why your auras have spiked so dramatically. The sweating, cold hands and feet, dizziness, and forgetfulness you're describing are consistent with this kind of disruption to your system.

This is not something to wait out on your own. Please contact your neurologist or epilepsy team as soon as possible — ideally today or tomorrow. Let them know:

- The sudden spike in aura frequency
- That you recently stopped marijuana use abruptly
- Your physical symptoms like sweating and cold extremities
- How it's affecting your daily life and mental wellbeing

You were absolutely right to stop driving. That was a smart and brave call. You're not alone in this experience. Many MyEpilepsyTeam members have shared how isolating a sudden increase in seizure activity can feel. Reaching out — like you just did — is always a good step. 💙
