Members connected warmly over a post about waking up disoriented and unsure of the time or day, with many sharing that they have experienced something very similar. Several members shared that their neurologists identified these episodes as focal or absence seizures, and a recurring piece of advice was to track how often they happen, how you feel before and after, and to bring that log to your next doctor's appointment. A recurring theme was that epilepsy affects sleep and recovery in ways others often don't see, and members encouraged one another with faith, practical tips like using a bedside digital clock showing AM or PM, and reminders that no one is alone in this experience.

The other day, i must have gone to sleep early. I have a large sleep debt, so when I woke up I thought it was the next day. It was actually early in the morning, say 3 AM. Then I want back to bed and slept until the next morning. I have problems getting and staying asleep.

Sounds like an absence seizure.

I had a seizure yesterday mine are nocturnal and even though I woke up my normal time in the morning a few hours later I fell back asleep. When I woke up then I was confused and it took a few hours to get oriented again. Those who don't have epilepsy don't realize it drains more out of you and your whole day is pretty much blah. Another reason it's so hard to get disability since once the seizure is over they think you can just get up and function no problem
