It didn't seem to you or me from the outside of the outside of it it was not a good place to go and eat but then went into it and found out it was maybe one of the best places you ever ate at and kept or tried to keep in your memory all your life, I think I have, I don't have the memory I used to and with my condition I have but I am not complaining about it either, but I have had that happen about the post here and other situations also, but as for the post here I look at it like the saying… read more

It’s been my experience that those small, hole in the wall restaurants are the best places to eat. Not many ppl would never chance eating in them, but they’ve got some of the best food going. As soon as I read ur post; it automatically took me back 35-40 yrs ago to a little place that I loved. Some of the best steaks and Italian food u’ve ever tasted. But most ppl just walked past while cringing. It was a small intimate place where the door was in the alley, and it always looked dark and dirty. But once u walked in, it was like day and night difference. I would try to take friends there, but like most, they judged the book by the cover- so to speak; and I had to literally try to drag them in. And I didn’t always exceed in getting them in. But once I did, they always wanted to go there. It’s something like our condition (s). Ppl are always judging us by our condition instead of giving us a chance and getting to know us. But I still like the hole in the wall dive places and boy can they ever surprise u! Thanks for bringing back memories that were almost forgotten Dave💜

Happens quite often tbh. Mainly when a new place opens up and they specialise in something I know nothing about. I tend to hold off then find out its really good then try it and it and I like it.

many years ago when we took a lot of road trips we would stop at "mom and pop" diners just to check out the quality of the food. we were very rarely disappointed with our meals even though some diners looked like unpainted shacks. Myself, I'd rather have good quality homestyle meals than having a fancy building. As long as the inside is clean and organized I don't much care if the outside needs a paint job.
