Can you get pregnant with epilepsy? The good news is that research shows epilepsy does not lower a woman's chances of becoming pregnant. A study found that women with epilepsy and women without epilepsy became pregnant at nearly the same rate within a year of trying. That said, there are some important things to keep in mind when planning a pregnancy with epilepsy:

- Talk to your neurologist and OB early β€” medication adjustments and prenatal vitamins may be needed before you even start trying
- Some epilepsy medications can affect a developing baby β€” your doctor can help find the safest options for you

One member shared, "My husband and I want to start trying to conceive. Even though I have been given the go-ahead by my neurologist and OB, I am still nervous."
