I can only get mine monthly and have to call the hospital pharmacy if they haven't mailed it yet. If I want to travel and haven't received it yet, I request an early shipment.

If you go online and order some so you have a "buffer" amount so you don't run out, how do you do that?

Members shared various strategies for managing epilepsy medication delivery, with many preferring local pharmacy pickup over mail order to avoid the anxiety of running low on medications. Several members described successful systems including 90-day mail order supplies with auto-refills, bubble or medico packs that organize daily doses by time of day, and backup plans like having both a local pharmacy and mail order option available in case of delays. A recurring theme was the importance of ordering well in advance (at least two weeks early) to create a buffer supply, communicating with insurance companies about delivery options, and working with doctors to request longer prescription periods when traveling or needing extra peace of mind.

I get a 90 day supply mail delivery from my health insurance pharmacy. I have auto refills and the pharmacy contacts my doctor when the prescription needs renewed.

There were a few pharmacies that would give me a day's worth or so. When filled again, they would lessen the ammount to what was provided. It depends. Years ago I had to order a med from Canada for personal use only. It was sent to my Doctor and I picked it up there. It had not been approved by the FDA yet, so was not covered by Insurance yet.
