I was involved in a program that helped disabled people find jobs when I was younger. I took several tests and that’s where they knew I had to have a job where you do the same thing repeatedly. Then they took me one place to work for a week and then a different place for a week, etc. so they tested my skills on 4 or 5 jobs. I didn’t end up with any of those jobs though.

I would check with your County Human Resouces . Find a DRS ( Dept. of Rehabilitation Service ) Councilor along with the workforce center.

Well I hope you’re coming. Human resources were the same as they do in my state..

You can also check with you local Epilepsy Foundation .

I worked with the Stamford Bureau of Rehabilitation. I do not know what it is called where you live. They sent me to Easter Seals, where people were stuffing envelopes and put them in boxes. However, they did not give me examples or good directions. I had been stuffing envelopes a certain way since childhood. It was not what they wanted, so I had to undo and redo al 500 envelopes. They wrote me up as being disagreeable. They do not help people get jobs, but are supposed to increase skills, i suppose.

Are there organizations that help people with epilepsy find employment?

While specific job placement organizations aren't detailed in available resources, there are several avenues for employment support:

Workplace Protections and Accommodations:
* The Americans With Disabilities Act protects people with epilepsy from workplace discrimination
* Employers with 15+ employees must provide reasonable accommodations
* You can work with HR departments to arrange necessary workplace modifications

Local Support Resources:
* Local Epilepsy Foundation chapters offer support groups, educational programs, and community events
* These chapters can be found by searching online by ZIP code or state
* They may provide connections to employment resources in your area

If You Cannot Work:
If epilepsy prevents you from working, you may qualify for Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) or Supplemental Security Income (SSI). These programs provide financial support when seizures make maintaining employment impossible.

Consider reaching out to your local Epilepsy Foundation chapter as a starting point - they can often direct you to employment resources and support services available in your community.
