I am on my diet plan I have put together a little while ago and have stuck with it and it is helpful for me and my eating habits I put into my daily routine as I start my day off with, but I try to stay about 1850 cal per day and am fairly well about doing that, but I do also go over on occasion but not much when I do, but what are your thoughts on the post here, curious and wondering is all, a neutral postand question ❓

Members shared varied approaches to calorie counting in their daily diet plans, with some tracking carefully to manage specific health goals while others rely on intuitive eating or dietary restrictions to guide their choices. Several members described how life circumstances shape their approach, including managing gluten and lactose allergies, working with a nutritionist during perimenopause, or struggling to maintain weight despite consuming thousands of calories daily. A recurring theme was that calorie counting can be a useful tool when needed but becomes less necessary over time as people develop a natural sense of portion sizes and what works for their individual bodies.

I really never thought about it. It's worth a shot at trying

Nope. I eat till I’m full. When I had to keep a nutrition diary for a couple weeks each time; it always came back that I’m eating between 5000-5500 calories a day, and I’m still struggling to keep weight on. But I’m finally into the mid 90’s which I haven’t seen in years; so I’m really happy about it and hopefully I’ll keep gaining more weight 🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽

I do because I’m old and in peri-menopause and trying to lose a few pounds. But I work with a nutritionist who gave me a calorie cap and I use the app “lose it”. For me it’s easy because I eat mostly the same thing, so It takes like 1 minute. I’m sure at some point I won’t need to anymore when I’m not trying to lose weight and workout. I actually love logging. It’s fun! It helps me track my fiber and protein intake too. All these things should change as you age.
