I've been on lamictal and keppra and got pregnant and had a seizure and it made the babies heart stop I want to get pregnant again but now I'm on onfi though my neurologist said that's a bad drug to get pregnant on. When you had your baby what medications were you taking?

I was on topamax and tegrital . I have 2 health boys.27 and 32, but it also depends on the type of seizures you have. One thing to remember, what works for me may not work for you.

I was on phenobarbital. My 30 yo son is doing fine. One thing I would have done different is to have my son weaned off the phenobarbital he got from me. Phenobarbital is very addictive and he went cold turkey.

My OB/GYN encouraged me to try. My neurologist said it would be okay to try. I take Lamictal, Topamax, and Fycompa. I would have to drop the Fycompa, which has been key in helping establish some control. Additionally, as a teacher working in school with full inclusion, I've seen children with so many problems. I just didn't want to take the chance of endangering a baby. My husband and I just decided to enjoy our lives together. My seizures were not well controlled when we got married. There were just too many variables.

Sweet simple talk to your doctor. Ask about having children and if there is any way to cut back on medication and try new ones. Ask him with the type of seizures is it even possible
