I was either unconscious or blacked out with my eyes open. I didn't know until after it happened. A friend witnessed it happening twice by video chat, and she said the second occurrence was 100 times scarier than the first. Plus, it was a longer span of time that I was out of it than the first time. When I came to, she asked if I had any memory of what just happened. No, I didn't. I have had epilepsy for over 30 years and I have never had a clue when I have a seizure. Someone else has to witness it. So the fact that you don’t remember having seizures is a common thing for some of us with epilepsy

If I lived by myself I would have no clue when or how many seizures I’ve had either. I never even know after I have a seizure.

My husband recorded my seizures for the first five yers i was having them. I stared having seizures just be the Covid disease so I could not see my Neuro. My husband recorded my seizures for five years. We gave the records to my doctor once Covid was cover I had my first appointment with my doctor. I was already on medication prescribed by doctor, 1500 mg of Keppra twice a day and 450 mg of a second anti seizure medication twice a day. It has helped alot After five years of having alot of seizures, seizures were reduced down to one every three months. Last year I only had two seizures. I have loss 75 pounds, still working at losing more, changed my diet, drink more water, became more postive person about having this condition , sleep more (I can only sleep in a recliner or my small sofa) and don't feel I am less than others because I have this condition. Those recorded helped. Last year when I saw my doctor, he looked at my face and could see I was still stressed living wiht my husband. He told me to write a journal which I did. Now I take my stress out on my laptop.LOL Husband went back to work which has reduced his stress being a home.
Hang in there.
