Brief Jerks And Twitches In Left Hand And Left Leg
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hi everyone, I was just wondering if anyone experiences brief jerks/twitches? I get them in my left hand and left leg most days. Is that seizure related? Sometimes I get the funny feeling with and sometimes it's just a brief like twitch. They happen almost everyday.

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member You can then have two different types "drug induced"/ unknown cause or Myoclonic epilepsy which normally comes from the frontal lobe.

Sometimes when I am just sitting or laying down my foot twitch’s/just moves a tiny bit without any effort from me. This happens occasionally I don’t take much notice to it. I let it happen and then it ends.

Before I had brain surgery I would always have my hands and legs twitching every time I'd get out of bed. I would sit on the side of my bed for a moment before I stood up. First my hands were shaking and then my right leg and then my left leg. My doctor said that these were petty mal seizures. Today I don't have any shaking. The shaking stopped after I had brain surgery in 1990.

I have some twitches in my hands and head/neck sometimes. "Sometimes I feel like its the beginning of a seizure that is being controlled by my medication. The seizures that happen with no warning whatsoever."
