Every so often , after I had my seizure my hands will shake, like I’m having a nicotine fit. Other times my heart rate goes up as if I just finished a race

My eye muscles used to twitch all of the time. It was caused by the medication I was taking for seizures which was Lyrica.

The jerking during sleep could be nocturnal seizures. These can disrupt sleep without you fully realizing what's happening, and you might wake up feeling exhausted as a result. The hand twitching while texting or using your hands sounds like it could be myoclonic seizures. These are brief, involuntary jerking movements that affect the arms or hands, and they often happen shortly after waking up. They can be so quick that they're sometimes mistaken for just being clumsy!
Here's a quick summary of what these might look like:
- Nocturnal seizures — jerking or twitching during sleep, often disrupting rest
- Myoclonic seizures — rapid, brief muscle jerks in the arms or hands during everyday activities
It's really important to bring both of these up with your neurologist or epilepsy specialist. Tracking when they happen, how often, and what you were doing can be really helpful information for your doctor.
