I take Keppra and am on it for my grand mal seizures. The doctors prescribe me the maximum amount of 3000 milligrams per day. My other medication I take for petit mal seizures is Vimpat. I haven't ever taken Trileptal.

I have been on Keppra since 2018, with an increase in dosage, now up to 1500 mg twice a da. I have had a lot less seizures in 2022 and 2023. I take vitamins B6 and B12. Someone on this website suggested the vitamins if you are taking Keppra.

How the meds affect us can be SO different. Joy is taking two medications that gave me horrible side effects. I had Keppra rage which affected me and my wife. While I was on Vimpat, I was hospitalized with suicidal ideation. Meanwhile, My dad takes Keppra and has great success with it. So it’s not a genetic thing. There are LOTS of medications out there to try if you’re not happy with the one you’re on.
