And to tag on to what Jolene said. Most EEGs for most people will only detect something if your having a seizure. It is rare for an external electrode to pick up activity that isn't of that magnitude. Most EEGs are effective when you get into the night long stays or week long stays.
The MRI is a very important baseline test.
It’s ok to go without an EEG after a year. My last EEG was in 2022. EEG before that was 17 years before the 2022 EEG
Generally, an eeg would be done as soon as possible. An MRI may also be done depending on a few factors.
not sure really..my son has very active eegs without clinical seizures. his neuro wont let him drive because of this activity and says you need to treat in order to reduce eeg activity. so based on this I would think regular eegs ( how often though?) would be important??
I would be more concerned with not having an MRI compared to EEG. MRI can detect damage whereas EEG will just show where they are coming from.
