I take the generic version Lacosamide. I do really well on it. Not much in the way of side effects. Fairly well controlled. Of course that's just me, your milage may vary.
Hi @A MyEpilepsyTeam Member , I’ve been on Vimpat since November 2019. Back then a generic wasn’t available & so it was a very expensive medicine & I didn’t have any insurance & so I contacted the manufacturer & applied for their Patient Assistance Program & was approved & got my Vimpat for free & my local Epilepsy Foundation helped me get my Depakote & have check-ups with my Neurologist by phone due to Covid. I had been taking 1 Vimpat 100mg twice a day & after a seizure one time my Neurologist increased my Vimpat but I don’t remember by how much but I think it was at least by 100mg & it caused my fingers to shake a little & so I told my Neurologist that I couldn’t take that extra increase she had done. Then after the seizure I had in January 2023 my Neurologist increased my Vimpat dosage at night by 50mg. So far things are going pretty good with the 1 100mg in the morning & 1 150mg at night. Your page says you’re currently taking Topamax. I took that years ago & it made me loose to much weight & so I had to get off it. Your friend in Texas, Becky
Thank you sir
