Can Seizures Cause A Fever?
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

My daughter has a history of partial complex, absent and febrile seizures. After having multiple seizures the past week, she woke up with a low grade fever.

Of course over a year later shes getting an EEG done monday and now i worry about them not doing it.

I asked her age because the fever is usually associated with the febrile seizures, but they end by the age of 5 at the latest.

The fact that she had the multiple seizures in the week, and then she woke up with a low grade fever, makes it logical for them to do another EEG to see if there is any new changes. It is not something to worry about. Not having an EEG since last year is not unusual. My previous neurologist would do them every other year to see if there was any new information. Epilepsy mutates, thus if something unusual happens (like the low grade fever), then it is logical for the neurologist to order a new EEG.

How old is your daughter? Why are you worried about an EEG? Haven't they done one already?
