Has anyone heard of covid-19 being linked to the start of people hsving seizures? I had my first seizures at the start of covid. A friend of mine knows someone else thst had the same problems as me with the start of seizures around then.
I have generalized epilepsy but hadn't had a seizure for almost 3 years then I had 2 breakthrough ones last weekend, 2 days later I tested positive for Covid 19. I've been searching Google to find any info on a link between the two but doesn't look like there's been much research into it at all so far!
I was watching a tv show called real stories on Saturday and it was about a man that has amnesia and forgets every few seconds he doesn't remember old and new memories the only thing that stayed was his memory of playing music as he was a musician.
They said what caused this was a virus that went through the blood brain barrier and attacked his brain the virus was the herpes simplex virus.
Really sad to watch I couldn't imagine someone you have loved and known doesn't remember you.
For him everyday is a new day ,time or day ,year ,month isn't relevant to him because he isn't aware of it.
Sorry to hear you had two seizures. I had my first one in almost a year last Friday. I have done tons of research.
I could not imagine everyday being a new day.
Thanks for the info and sorry about hearing your pops passing.
My doctors never linked my seizures to covid, but i was extremely sick the week I fell and started having my first. It was right before the announced the outbreak of covid. I was just wondeing if i possibly could have had it and never will know. I ended up going to the Mayo Clinic in Florida for a second opinion and they did say they are sure it was some type of virus that attacked my brain that caused everything.
